The Eleventh Annual Fall Drive of the Hudson Valley Chapter took place on October 11, 2020; its traditional day on Columbus Day weekend. Twelve cars and 24 guests joined the drive from Fishkill, NY through the back roads of Dutchess County to our first stop: Milea Vineyards in Staatsburg, NY. There proprietor Barry Milea and staff provided us with a varied tasting of their award-winning wines while we practiced appropriate distancing and protective measures. The weather was perfect for sitting on the winery veranda overlooking the fall colors or adjacent hills. The winery offered up some of its wines for a free fun raffle for the members and three lucky winners took home samples of Milea’s offerings, courtesy of the vineyard. Thanks Tom.
A wide range of cars participated in this year’s event from a 412i of the Eighties up to a new 488 Pista. While most cars present were 8-cylinder models, a few big 12-cylinder cars were there as well. It is nice to see a 12-cylinder Ferrari on the road as Enzo intended.
Following the relaxing tasting, the group headed out for a short drive to the second stop of the day, J. Dominik’s Trattoria in Poughkeepsie, NY for an early dinner. Since the weather was perfect, we dined outdoors on the patio and enjoyed a family style dinner that was served individually to the respective tables. Thanks to Lauren and Eddie for a memorable meal.
All participants had a super time, and left the event looking forward to our next gathering.
