Empire State Region – Hudson Valley Chapter

The twelfth annual Hudson Valley Fall Drive took place on October 10, 2021, with 25 guests and 14 cars taking the drive from Fishkill, NY to the first stop in Standfordville, NY, Taconic Distillery.

The setting of the Distillery made for a perfect fall day in the bucolic area of Dutchess County. Taconic Distillery, established in 2013, is a purveyor of fine craft spirits located in the Hudson Valley of New York. They handcraft their award-winning bourbon and rye whiskies in small batches using the finest ingredients, including grains grown in New York and natural spring water from their own farm. The Distillery offered a tasting of their unique and award-winning products to the group including their distinguished Bourbon Cream. Taconic Distillery’s Bourbon Cream is handcrafted using their Straight Bourbon Whiskey, making it a perfect marriage of rich delicious cream and smooth New York bourbon. Following this most pleasant respite, the group took off for the second drive of the day to the Blue Fountain Restaurant in Hopewell Junction, NY.

The Mariano family opened the Blue Fountain in 1994 and they have dedicated themselves to serving the freshest quality Italian food and to provide exceptional service to create the ultimate dining experience. The Blue Fountain was the site of the dinner for the very first Hudson Valley Fall Drive, so it was a pleasure to return to this establishment that has been rated the Best Italian Dining Restaurant in the Hudson Valley by Zagat. The buffet offered a wide variety of options, so the preferences of the discerning palettes were all well satisfied.

Certainly, a good time was had by all and we are looking forward to another notable outing in 2022 for the 13th annual fall drive.
