It was a perfect day on October 13, 2019, for the Annual Fall Foliage Drive of the Empire State Region’s Hudson Valley Chapter. Our friends and partners at Wide World Ferrari/Maserati in Spring Valley, NY once again showed their support of the FCA/ESR by hosting a continental breakfast for the group – thank you to General Manager Mike Mastrangelo, Marketing Director Lori Fichter and Sales Ambassador Gary Lyttle for making it happen.
Once everyone had enjoyed themselves and thoroughly examined the cars on the showroom floor (sorry Mike, no one bought a car this year), the group headed off for a 90-minute drive to Cosimo’s Trattoria in Poughkeepsie, NY. We motored north on the Palisades Parkway, passed through Bear Mountain State Park, across the Bear Mountain Bridge, and north along the Hudson River, all the while enjoying the fall colors. From Cold Spring, NY the group motored east through Fahnestock State Park, past the lakes, all the while taking in the autumn splendor. Finally, we turned north through northern Putnam County into southern Dutchess County, and ultimately to Cosimo’s where owner Carlo Citera greeted us and personally assisted with parking the cars. At this point we had amassed 19 Ferrari and 38 guests. The collected cars ranged from a vintage Boxer to a new 488 Pista.
Carlo had arranged for a sumptuous four-course meal featuring Lobster ala Vodka and Grilled Beef Filet. Needless to say, no one left hungry. The ESR continued its program of giving back to the members by awarding three complimentary subscriptions to All About Italy, one of our partners from the August event, the Festival of Fine Italian Cars, Bikes and Food; thank you Simona.
Everyone present thoroughly enjoyed him/herself and left anticipating the next ESR/HVC event; the December Holiday Party.
